Brooklyn Action Corps neighborhood is located in Southeast Portland in the Willamette River watershed. It runs along the east side of the Willamette River, and includes industrial hub Ross Island. The neighborhood is home to Trimet‘s headquarters. It has three parks: Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn School Park, and Powell park, and it is adjacent to Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. The Brooklyn Action Corps (BAC) is a community organization that was founded in the 1960’s to combat neighborhood blight and crime. Since their establishment, the neighborhood had undergone a major turnaround, and is now considered a desirable place to live. Brooklyn Action Corps is a part of the Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Program Coalition.
