Buckman neighborhood is located in inner Southeast Portland in the Willamette River watershed. The Willamette River makes up its eastern border, and E. Burnside St. and SE Hawthorne Blvd. make up its north and south boundaries, respectively. The neighborhood has several parks and natural areas, including Lone Fir Cemetery, Colonel Summers Park, Buckman Community Garden, and the Eastbank Esplanade. It is mixed commercial and residential, with several major retail districts running through it along Hawthorne Blvd., Belmont Ave., Sandy Blvd., Burnside St., Grand Ave., and MLK Blvd. Buckman is a part of the Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Program Coalition.
