Humboldt neighborhood is in North and Northeast Portland in the Willamette River and Columbia Slough watersheds. The I-5 freeway runs along its eastern border. Though the neighborhood is mostly residential, it has several commercial corridors along N Killingsworth, N Williams, and N Mississippi. Portland Community College’s Cascade campus dominates the northwest corner of the neighborhood, anchoring a popular retail district along N Killingsworth Ave. Jefferson High School and the North Portland library are also located on N Killingsworth Ave. Humboldt is a part of the Northeast Coalition of Neighbors.
