Kenton neighborhood is located in North Portland in the Columbia Slough watershed. Kenton is home to the Portland International Raceway and the Portland Metropolitan Expo Center. The historic city of Vanport, a public housing project built to provide homes for World War II shipbuilders, was partially located in East Columbia. Vanport was at one time the second largest city in Oregon. The entire city was destroyed by a 1948 flood and all of its residents displaced. Kenton is a part of the North Portland Neighborhood Services Coalition.
