Madison South neighborhood is located in Northeast Portland in the Willamette River and Columbia Slough watersheds. The neighborhood is bounded to the east by the I-205 freeway and to the south by the I-84 freeway. Madison South has several notable geographic features, including Rocky Butte, an extinct volcanic cinder cone; and the Alameda Ridge, a pendant bar formed during the Missoula Floods. Other notable features are several parks, including Glenhaven Park, Hancock Park, and the newly developed Gateway Green. Madison South is a part of the Central Northeast Neighborhoods Coalition.
