University Park neighborhood is located in North Portland in the Willamette River and Columbia Slough watersheds. The Willamette River makes up the southwest boundary of the neighborhood. University Park was named after the University of Portland, a Methodist college founded in 1891 that is located in the neighborhood. Other notable features include a popular retail district along N. Lombard and two parks– Portsmouth Park and McKenna Park. University Park is a part of the North Portland Neighborhood Services Coalition.
